Moss formation on your thatched roof
Moss is one of the biggest threats to a thatched roof. Moisture is the cause of moss growth. If the roof angle is less than 45º, water will remain for too long. The presence of forests or large trees also retain a lot of moisture. Heavy and prolonged rainfall can also cause moss growth.
We treat moss with an organic algae and moss killer. We spray this on the roof. This kills the algae, which means the moss can no longer retain water effectively and dies as well. We recommend doing this at least every three years, and more often if moss is present.
